psychotherapy services
What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy (sometimes called talk therapy) refers to a variety of treatment methods that aim to help a person identify and change dysfunctional or troubling emotions, thoughts, and behaviours.
At OCR, we offer psychotherapy sessions one-on-one, in a private room at the clinic or virtually, with a mental health professional. We hope to relieve any emotional stressors that may be preventing you from living your happiest and healthiest life. Recovery from injury can take a toll on our mental and emotional health and we often find ourselves with barriers that prevent us from healing and regaining our confidence and happiness. Healing the mind and soul often helps heal the body at the same time. We strive to heal the “whole person” in a patient-centred, judgement-free environment.
In your 60 min session you will explore the feelings, thoughts, and behaviours that move us towards or away from our goals. Your practitioner aims to support you to incorporate awareness, mindfulness and self-compassion in day-to-day life.
What is psychotherapy used for?
